Adana​ Barbieri​ is a senior teacher and student of Shambhala​,​ having begun her studies initially with the Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche in Boulder in 1974.​ ​She has served in various capacities at SMC, most recently as the Director of Community Health and Well Being. She is a founding partner of DralaGroup, LLC, ​which is working to develop a model for contemplative cohousing communities​. Adana ​is ​also ​a founding member and​ ​​the​ Executive Director of Courageous Women, Fearless Living a non-profit organization that runs retreats for women touched by cancer.
