Sitting in Beauty: A Silent Mindfulness Retreat
Janet Solyntjes and Mary Linda McBride
August 10–15, 2021
What is the experience of sitting in beauty — within our own being, within the flow of communication, and within the natural world? Mindfulness invites us into the experience of now and is an essential element in the cultivation of kindness, common humanity, beauty and wisdom. We find solace in the present moment. We discover joy unleashed when we relax to the sensory world. We feel connected to others when we are deeply at ease within ourselves. We allow space to inquire how to take care of our interior domain as well as the shared domain.
In this retreat, you will explore practices from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement, body scan, and sensory exercises.
Please review SMC’s current COVID-19 policy at this link, thanks.
