Experiencing hardships in our external and internal lives is an experience we all know well. While we often don’t have control over external hardships, we do over internal ones.

How we speak to ourselves in the privacy of our own minds is something that no one else knows about, and no one else can do anything about. Thus, shifting this self-talk from negative to positive is one of the most profound gifts we can give ourselves to improve the overall quality of our lives.

During this weekend retreat we’ll take a closer look at our inner critics— those often heavy-handed internal voices that push, judge, and oppress us. Rather than demonizing these parts of ourselves, we’ll use the Internal Family Systems (IFS) psycho-spiritual therapeutic model to befriend them. With compassion and curiosity, we’ll take a closer look to understand how some of the most challenging parts of your psyche came to be and what they need to become your allies, rather than your enemies.

Through wisdom talks, embodiment practices of yin and slow flow yoga, Buddhist meditation, journaling, psycho-spiritual inquiry, group sharing, self-care, and sacred silence, you’ll leave feeling more integrated, enlivened, and at home in yourself.

All genders, with all levels of yoga and meditation experience, are warmly welcome. Please bring your journal, as well as whatever yoga and meditation props you may need.
