Visiting the Stupa

SMC is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, and The Great Stupa is closed to visitors during this time.

The Stupa Visitors’ Center offers a 25-minute video.

Specialized private group tours can be arranged (for 7 or more participants). Please inquire at least one week before your requested tour date. For information, call 888-788-7221 or email stupa@shambhalamountain.org.

For private or group tours, please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled tour to allow time for parking and walking to the Stupa. The Stupa is a 20-minute walk from the parking lot. There is a $10 per person fee for scheduled Stupa tours. Reduced rates are available for seniors and students, and can be established when booking a tour.

Please wear comfortable shoes, bring sun protection and a water bottle. We are located at 8,000 feet so it is easy to become dehydrated. Dogs and other pets are not allowed.

Please view Getting Here, Driving Directions and Driving Map for the safest and most convenient route to Shambhala Mountain Center. Most GPS devices and online mapping websites take you through Poudre Canyon, where road conditions can be challenging during wet and wintering seasons.
